   This past July, I held our 2014 Summer recital at Morning Pointe Assisted Living, in Clinton, Tennessee. I cannot even begin to tell you how proud I was of my students. They have worked so hard, and I know all their effort paid off. Being a piano teacher is so rewarding in more than one aspect. It is always a joy to see everyone progress each year, but also, I have developed lasting friendships with the students. I am so grateful God has brought them across my path, and I pray I can challenge them not just in the musical aspect, but also in their Christian life.
 
Recitals usually bring butterflies, anxiousness, and out of control nerves for most people, and Im sure everyone that participated could vouch for that, but after its over, and they have sighed a sigh of relief, they all realize it was worth the sacrifice invested. 
  This year as I watched the elderly people from the assisted living, I was so encouraged and blessed, as they smiled, clapped, and cheered for the students. Many of them came up afterwards and expressed their deep appreciation for students coming. One sweet lady was just crying, as she told me how much they needed the encouragement, and how blessed she was by seeing the students play. It made me realize how lonely some of them were...most of them had lost their spouse, and their children lived far away.  A smile, hug, or just a simple conversation can mean the world to someone. Let someone know you care today; dont wait till it is too late!
